Association Montessori Internationale
Association Montessori Internationale
Association Montessori Internationale, or AMI, is an organisation that was established by Dr. Maria Montessori in 1929. Dr. Montessori through her years of experience, being a doctor and an educator, founded AMI in order to safeguard and carry forward her philosophy with probity. AMI with its headquarters in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, guides, connects and coordinates AMI Montessori Training Courses for all age levels (Assistants to Infancy: Birth to 3 years; Primary Diploma: 3 to 6 years; Elementary Diploma: 6 to 12 years and Montessori 12 to 18 Diploma for Adolescents) across the globe.
"Montessori is an education and a perspective that moves from learning to application through curiosity and creativity. AMI serves as the network and community that applies the principles of Montessori in many aspects of life and living, building upon the approach without compromising its integrity. As such, it is the recognised authority for those interested in applying the Montessori approach at multiple levels—from education to humanitarian causes to research and the broader physical and social environment."
